The Horse-N-Around For a Cure Relay Team held its second dog show on Nov. 5 in Herman Park, raising more than $2,000 for the Relay for Life.

The group started as a Relay for Life team in support of the American Cancer Society. The day before the dog show, the group of more than 60 runners competed in a 5K run for the American Cancer Society.

Team Captain Carolyn Plummer said the dog show ended up being a good family outing. The 21 classes ranged from fun classes to those for the more complex breeds.

"We even had dogs in the Best Trick class," Ms. Plummer said. She described one dog that could read word cards and do what the card had written on it. That class even had dogs that could count and dogs that danced.

The group plans to have another dog show in April.

She said 200 dog lovers got to show off their pets.

Best in Show honors went to Rachel Musser for Zip, her Doberman pinscher.
