Stolen gun
William Jones, a Neuse Corrections employee, told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies someone broke into his home on the 100 block of Stone Glen Road in Pikeville and stole more than $1,200 in belongings. The person is believed to have pried open Jones' back door between 9 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday, causing $100 in damages. The person stole a 9 mm pistol worth $150, a $200 watch, a $100 gold bracelet and a $100 gold ring. A bulletproof vest worth $700 was also stolen.
House break-in
More than $800 in cash were among the items stolen from a residence on the 200 block of Harding Drive between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. George Slocum told Goldsboro police officers he returned home and found the side door to his house kicked in. Someone stole a $300 television set, the cash and $200 worth of checks. The damage to the door was estimated at $100.
Huddle House money stolen
Goldsboro police officers are investigating a possible felony larceny by an employee of the Huddle House on East Ash Street. Employee Christine Whitney told police officers the money from a previous shift was not in the locked office when she went to work Friday morning. Ms. Whitney said $186.66 in cash was not in the office and could have been stolen between 10 p.m. Thursday and 8:15 a.m. Friday.
Credit card fraud
Pikeville resident Bonnie Crawford told Wayne County sheriff's deputies someone stole her credit card and made more than 75 different charges between Sept. 20 and Sept. 26. During that week, the person charged about $3,000 to Ms. Crawford's credit card.
