One mystery woman who purchased a Powerball ticket at a Goldsboro grocery store is $30,000 richer.
The woman purchased the winning lottery ticket at Han Kuk Oriental Market on North Berkeley Boulevard, store owner Chong Piper said. The Powerball drawing was held Wednesday.
No one claimed the $30,000 prize Wednesday or Thursday. But on Friday, the winner came forward, Ms. Piper said.
She said she was thrilled the winning ticket was sold at her store.
"It's a good thing," Mrs. Piper said.
She said the mystery woman asked her not to reveal her identity.
The Goldsboro resident was just one of more than 46,000 players who won prizes ranging from $30,000 to $3 in Wednesday's drawing, North Carolina Education Lottery officials said Thursday.
"Four of those players won $10,000 by matching four of the five white balls and the Powerball," according to a press release. "Two of the players chose the Power Play feature, which multiplied their winnings to $30,000."
