Community input will be sought in the search to replace Dr. Ed Wilson as president of Wayne Community College.

Officials at the college said a "community focus group," is planned for Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in Room 101 of the Walnut Building. The public is invited.

Purpose of the session will be to create a profile of the college's next president. Dr. J. Parker Chesson, Jr. of the executive search firm Gold Hill Associates will also be on hand to lead the discussion.

Dr. Wilson announced his plans to retire at the Sept. 26 Board of Trustees meeting. His departure will be in June.

The board met last week with Martin Lancaster, N.C. Community College System president, to discuss the process. A search committee and liaison between the committee and the consultant were also announced.
