The Girl Scouts are conducting a council-wide community service project called "Blanket the Community" from now until Oct. 31. The troops will be distributing the blankets in November.
The girls in Wayne County have secured locations that will accept donations for the project. The local drop-off and collection sites are as follows:
*Girl Scout Service Center, 108 E. Lockhaven Drive.
*Wayne County Public Library branches in Goldsboro, Pikeville, Seven Springs and Mount Olive.
*Progressive Presbyterian Church on Progressive Church Road, Princeton.
*Judith McMillion Reality Office on Berkley Boulevard in Goldsboro.
*Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.
Churches, schools, community centers and businesses can contact the Girl Scouts if blankets are needed. Log on to www.gscoastalnc.org or call 800-558-9297 for information.
