Master Gardeners' fall plant symposium and plant sale Saturday

Wayne County Extension Master Gardener volunteers will be holding their Fall Plant Symposium and Plant Sale on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Wayne Center, at the Cooperative Extension Office on the corner of George and Chestnut streets.
The symposium is sponsored by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service and the Wayne County Master Gardener Volunteer Association.
The symposium provides gardeners an opportunity to enjoy a morning of informative discussions about gardening by a number of experts and to purchase plants grown by Master Gardener volunteers. The symposium is free to the public.
To register, call the extension office at 731-1525.
Registration deadline is Wednesday.
The symposium schedule is as follows:
*8:30 a.m. -- Registration opens.
*9 to 9:45 a.m. -- "Bulbs in the Garden," Frankie Fanelli, J.C. Raulston Arboretum.
*10 to 10:45 a.m. -- "Fall Perennials," Jessica Hyatt, Wayne County Extension horticulture agent.
*11 to 11:45 a.m. -- "New Plants in the Landscape," Hope Adams, Logan's Trading Co., Raleigh.
*Noon to 12:45 p.m. -- "Propagation of Unusual Plants," Ozzie Coor, Coor Farm Supply, Smithfield.
*11 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- Wayne County Master Gardener Volunteer Association Plant Sale.
