Investigations
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*Chantel Therace Thomas said someone kicked open her front door while she was asleep about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday and struck her in the face and head. The assailant accused Ms. Thomas of having an affair with her husband. The suspect then stole her cell phone, valued at $100, and ran. Emergency crews responded, but Ms. Thomas refused medical treatment.
*Bobby Craig Benton reported his tractor and attached equipment, valued at $78,000, was stolen from Nahunta and Party roads. Deputy Ryan Sasser found the tractor in a field at Hare and New Hope roads.
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Someone broke into a home on Evergreen Avenue and stole a Sony PlayStation 2, laptop computer, stereo and other items, all valued at $2,765.
