4 men charged with string of break-ins

Wayne County Sheriff's Office officials nabbed four suspects allegedly responsible for more than a dozen break-ins in the Nahunta and Patetown areas.
Brandon Ashley Sullivan, 19, of N.C. Highway 581, Fremont; Matthew Lavonne Brantley, 18, of Old Moye Road, Fremont; Mark Allen Clark, 17, of Old Stuckey Road, Fremont; and Charles Anthony Marlowe, 18, of Old Vance Street, face a laundry list of charges including breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods, Wayne County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Shawn Harris said.
According to reports, Sullivan, who faces six criminal charges, was being held at the Wayne County Jail on a $116,300 bond. Brantley, who faces 29 charges, was being held on a $100,000 bond. Clark, who also faces 29 charges, was being held on a $250,000 bond. Marlowe, who faces 34 charges, was being held on a $200,000 bond.
The men were linked to at least 14 break-ins that occurred in late August in the Patetown and Nahunta areas, Harris said.
"Other cases in northern Wayne County are still under investigation and further arrests of these subjects are possible," Harris said. "Property from some of the crimes has been located and recovered."
Harris said the suspects were repeat offenders.
"Two of the subjects were just released from jail and placed on probation for similar felony cases that they were charged with back in December 2005," Harris said. "These subjects have only been out of jail for approximately a month or less when all of these crimes occurred. Two of the subjects were on supervised probation for other break-ins when these crimes occurred."
Harris announced the arrests of the four suspects Monday. Detective Sgts. Mike Kabler, Robert Golimowski, Richard Winders and the Fremont Police Department assisted in the investigation, Harris said.
