Neighbors will have chance to talk to city

Neighbors will get another chance to voice their concerns Tuesday as city officials host one of the last neighborhood meetings of the year on the front lawn of Meadow Lane Elementary School.
Gang activity, graffiti, children roaming the streets late at night and flooding concerns have dominated this year's meetings so far.
Assistant City Manager Tasha Logan said she doesn't know quite what to expect from neighbors in The Meadows and Oak Forest. No specific complaints have been received by the city to date, she added.
The format of Tuesday's meeting will be consistent with others held this year.
After brief introductions by Goldsboro Mayor Al King, City Manager Joe Huffman and City Council members, residents will be given the opportunity to stand behind the lectern and talk about their neighborhood -- the good and bad.
Representatives from all city departments also will be on hand and members of the Goldsboro Police and Fire departments will have information and educational gifts for children. Dinner and refreshments will be provided by Pizza Inn and Coca-Cola.
The first neighborhood meeting was held on the Kornegay Street blacktop last September. Since then, Mayor Al King said leaders from communities across the city have been identified.
The meetings were designed to bring elected officials and residents together, officials said. They also help establish lines of communication between the two groups and provide a venue for introductions.
Tuesday's meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
