The Girl Scouts Council of Coastal Carolina is taking part in the second annual community service project called "blanket the community" by donating new or and clean, gently-used blankets to benefit local women's shelters, homeless shelters, foster homes, children's hospitals, animal shelters and other community organizations.
The Girl Scout troops will be collecting blankets throughout their communities. Collection boxes will be in churches, schools, community centers and local businesses.
Look for Girl Scouts participating in the drive in your neighborhood or drop off your blankets at one of several collection sites.
For a complete list of sites or to offer your church, school or place of business as a drop-off point for the blankets, log on to www.gscoastalnc.org or call 734-6231 locally or 800-558-9297.
