Wayne County Sheriff's Office SWAT unit pulled a 4-year-old child off the roof of a storage building on a farm off U.S. 70 near Goldsboro Saturday to end a standoff with the child's father.

Johnston County officials would only identify the suspect as Lorenzo Servin of Frankies Lane, Goldsboro.

Wayne County Sheriff's Office officials said Servin is believed to have entered a Johnston County home where his 4-year-old son and the child's mother were living. The Johnston County Sheriff's Office was called to the home in response to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon and the possible kidnapping of the 4-year-old child.

According to Johnston County reports, officials believe Servin entered the home, took the child from his mother by force and left.

According to law enforcement officials, Servin took the child to a farm off of U.S. 70 West outside of Goldsboro and climbed onto the roof of a small storage building near the farm to elude officers.

The Wayne County SWAT team, along with Sheriff Carey Winders, were called to the scene to question witnesses and devise a tactical plan to retrieve the child safely.

The SWAT team quickly removed the child from the roof before Servin could react without injuring the boy or Servin, and Winders returned the boy to his mother.

Servin was apprehended by Wayne SWAT members and Johnson County authorities took him into custody.

Servin was charged with one felony county of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of simple assault. Servin was placed in Johnston County Jail in lieu of a $40,000 secured bond.
