Investigations

Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:

*An 8-year-old Goldsboro boy reported he found a gun in his cousin's room and started to play with it. The gun accidentally went off, striking him in the hand. The boy was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.

*Christopher Lonniel Williams reported he was shot in the calf by an unknown male at 11:59 p.m. Sunday while at a party on Kornegay Street in Dudley. He was taken ton Wayne Memorial Hospital. Williams declined to pursue the incident further.

*An 8-year-old Goldsboro boy reported he and a 12-year-old boy were playing with a BB gun. The gun went off and struck the 8-year-old in the chest. The BB lodged in the 8-year-old's chest .

*Virginia Ann Beckerman reported someone she knew began to argue with her, pushed his way inside and then stabbed her in the right arm, right breast and right side of her back with a pocket knife.

Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:

*Jeffrey Oppenheim of Chili's on Sunburst Drive reported Sunday that someone paid for food with a fake $20 bill.

*Rashana Howell reported 9:36 p.m. Sunday that someone aimed a gun at her and demanded her purse. The gunman left with her purse that contained $415, keys and other items.
