Ayden Collard Festival this week

AYDEN -- The annual Ayden Collard Festival will be held this week, starting with pageants today and continuing with food and entertainment through the weekend. The Junior Miss and Collard Queen pageants were to be held this evening, with rides and vendors opening Thursday. On Friday, the featured entertainment will be the Super Grit Cowboy Band. A 5-kilometer road race will be held Saturday, along with a golf tournament, horseshoe tournament, arts and crafts show, and Collard Festival parade. Entertainment will continue with the Carolina Girls Line Dancing performers, talent contest and collard-cooking and collard-eating contests. The band The Main Event will perform.
On Sunday, the golf tournament will continue and a gospel worship fest will be held, starting at 4 p.m.
