Government offices closed for Labor Day

Federal, state, county and city offices in Wayne and Duplin counties will close Monday in observance of Labor Day.
In Wayne County, county offices will be closed. In Goldsboro, all city offices will be closed.
The Wayne Board of Elections office has been open for North Carolina House of Representatives District 10 early voting for the past week, but that office will also be closed on Monday. Anyone who wants to vote early for the primary can do so again on Tuesday beginning at 8 a.m.
Wayne County's landfill will not accept trash and recycled goods on Monday.
Waste collection will be shut down Monday in Goldsboro. Trash pick-up will return to a regular schedule on Friday, but residents should still pull their containers to the curb Tuesday night for Wednesday's collection.
Anyone who needs transportation across Wayne County can still use GATEWAY buses on Monday, but the buses will begin running at 9:45 a.m. GATEWAY's van service will run on Monday, but reservations had to be made in advance to use the service.
In Duplin County, in addition to school closings, government offices also will be closed.
The county commission meeting that is normally held the first Monday of the month will be conducted instead at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Duplin County Administration Building on Seminary Road.
The towns of Calypso and Faison will close their offices.
The holiday will not affect trash pickup in Duplin County.
