A golf tournament to raise funds for the Kitty Askins Hospice Center expansion is being held next month, 3HC officials announced this week.
The Kitty Askins Hospice Center golf tournament is planned for Thursday, Sept. 21, at Walnut Creek Country Club, with two shotgun starts, 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Contests include special hole-in-one's, beat the pro and more. Entrance fees cover green fees, cart, lunch and prizes.
The goal is to raise $25,000 for the center's expansion fund.
Kitty Askins currently offers 12 beds to hospice patients throughout eastern North Carolina, said Susan Malewich, director of community development. The demand has grown such that the needs outweigh availability. Additional beds will allow the center to grow and serve more individuals in need of specialized care, she said.
All donations are tax-deductible.
