Store theft

An unidentified man entered the Friendly Mart on the 300 block of U.S. 13 South at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday and stole about $160 from the cash register. Employee Kimberly Honnold told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that the man entered the store and said he was going to steal money. He them reached into the register, took the money and ran out of the store. No description was available except that he was a white man about 5-feet-10 in height.

Break-in

Some time between 4:30 p.m. Aug. 11 and 10 a.m. Aug. 12, someone broke into a residence on the 200 block of Hide Away Circle in Dudley and stole about $2,000 in goods. Chasity Wilson reported to Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that someone broke into her home and stole a $280 DVD player, $200 worth of DVDs and compact discs, a $650 gold ring and $500 cash. A double-paned window was broken worth an estimated $300.

Car break-in

Goldsboro police said someone broke into an SUV owned by Maria Guadalupe while it was parked on the 100 block of Tenth Place and stole more than $800 in clothing and stereo equipment.

Rifle, clothes taken

Someone stole an AK-47 rifle and a .25-caliber handgun from a home on the 200 block of East Lockhaven Drive over the weekend. Johnathan Blanton told Goldboro police that someone kicked in his front door causing $100 in damages and stole the two guns along with a $200 PlayStation 2, two leather jackets worth $400 each, jewelry worth $600 and 20 pairs of shoes worth about $2,000.

Accidents

The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported these accidents:

*Jerome Brian Mooney was traveling south Wednesday on state road 1538 near Fremont at about 7:30 a.m. when a dog ran out in front of his motorcycle. Mooney told state troopers that he couldn't avoid hitting the animal, which was killed. Damages to the motorcycle were estimated at $2,000.

*While traveling west on state raod 1138 on Friday, Michael Theriac's Yamaha went left of center and struck a ditch. Then, the motorcycle struck a driveway before flipping into a yard. The accident, which caused about $1,000 in damage, happened at about 9:15 p.m. near Mount Olive, according to the Highway Patrol report. Theriac was charged with speeding and was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in good condition today.

*Vinicio Juan Perez was charged with driving left of center and having no operator's license after an accident Wednesday on state road 1739 near Seven Springs, according to a report filed by state Highway Patrol troopers. Damages were estimated at $3,000. Perez was taken to Wayne Memorial for treatment and left the emergency room against medical advice.

Snake stolen

A thief who broke into the home of Francis Bailey on the 700 block of Massey Road stole a 12-gauge shotgun valued at $300, a .270-caliber rifle valued at $300, a TV valued at $100 and a python and its cage. Investigators did not put a value on the snake.
