AF Reserve Band plans shows in area

The Band of the Air Force Reserve has verified its fall schedule, which includes a number of shows on and off Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Many of the performances will feature the Blue Notes, which blends jazz, blues, Latin spice and modern rock. Others will showcase the Brass Quintet, which plays pieces spanning five centuries. Their performances may include everything from Renaissance and Baroque music all the way to jazz, popular music, marches and patriotic selections.
Currently, the band's schedule for Goldsboro and Wayne County is verified as follows:
*Sept. 7, for students -- Southern Wayne High School, 1:30 to 3 p.m.
*Sept. 7, for students and community -- Wayne Community College, 7 to 9 p.m.
*Sept. 8, for community -- Herman Park Center, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
*Sept. 8, for students -- Eastern Wayne High School, 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.
*Sept. 9, Family Day -- Seymour Johnson Air Force Base's Debden Park, 1 to 4 p.m.
*Sept. 9, for community -- Herman Park Gazebo, 1 to 2:30 p.m.
*Sept. 9, for students and community -- Mount Olive College's Kornegay Arena, 7 to 9 p.m.
