The final 'Taste' list is in

Knives, spoons and spatulas will be flying as griddles and ovens are fired up for the 15th annual Taste of Wayne County.
The event is United Way of Wayne County's campaign kickoff and will be Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The location has changed this year from the base to Wayne Community College.
Tickets are $12 and will be on sale at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, RBC Centura Bank and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Outdoor Recreation until 5 p.m. on the day of the event.
Taste chairman Sally Worrell said 1,100 tickets will be sold this year.
If only a few raindrops fall Tuesday, participants can still come and enjoy the fun at the Taste of Wayne County Tuesday. If a downpour is expected, United Way officials will make the call no later than 9 a.m. Monday and make a public announcement.
Visitors to the event will be able to enter the college from either Wayne Memorial Drive or New Hope Road. Parking signs and volunteers will direct visitors to the parking area.
To get into the Taste area, you will need to show your ticket and get your hand stamped.
Visitors will receive a free Frisbee. Taste of Wayne aprons and T-shirts will be on sale.
Vendors will vie for awards in the following categories -- continental, country cooking, Oriental cuisine, fine dining, Italian cuisine, pizza, desserts, pub appetizers, Mexican cuisine and breakfast foods.
The most coveted award, though, is the People's Choice, voted on by those attending the Taste.
Disc jockey Thomas Vick will provide musical entertainment, while visitors munch on everything from pizza and tortillas to donuts. He will also be spotlighting all the participating vendors.
Portable restrooms and hand-washing facilities will be available.
Mrs. Worrell said the Taste is a good family event. "It's a good way to see people, eat, drink and have a good time."
