Two charged

Goldsboro police charged a man and woman after being called to a domestic dispute Monday. Nicole Reid, 22, of Olivia Lane, was charged with simple assault and released . Samuel Keith Best, 26, of the same address, was charged on two earlier warrants, one for speeding and another for driving without a license. He was also charged with a probation violation and littering. He was jailed under $11,500 bond.

Investigations

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating these reports:

*The Movie Gallery at 13180 W. Grantham St., Goldsboro, reported the theft of two adult movie DVDs, valued at a total of $50, around 10:30 p.m. Monday. A witness reported seeing it and described the thief as a white man wearing a red shirt. He reportedly left on a white Buick. The report said the person cut open the package and removed the DVDs from the case and left the store without paying for them.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating these reports:

*Someone broke into the shed at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 U.S. 70 W., Princeton, and took straps, cables and a chain, all valued at $125. The shed was locked, according to the report, but the thieves forced the hinges off the doors.
