An Intermediate American Sign Language class for parents and caregivers of young deaf children is being offered locally by the Eastern N.C. Early Intervention Program for Children Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Adults participate in discussion, brief presentations, and learn story-sharing techniques each week. "Kid night" is offered every fifth week, allowing deaf children to participate in games and stories.
The sign language class is ongoing at the Partnership for Children and meets each Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information or to register for the classes, contact American Sign Language Specialist Vicki Robertson at (252) 237-2450 Ext. 216.
