WCC honored for online curriculum

Wayne Community College has been recognized as a "Top Gainer" partner institution with the "ed2go" online education company.
Enrollment at WCC grew by 100 percent in the first quarter of 2006 over the same period in the previous year.
Of the more than 300 courses available, Wayne Community College's most popular classes are Creating Web Pages, Speed Spanish, Microsoft Excel, and Medical Terminology, said James Ragan, coordinator of online courses for the college's continuing education division.

The new course terms begin Aug. 19, Sept. 20 and Oct. 18. Courses run for six to eight weeks and are composed of 12 lessons, representing 24 or more hours of instruction. They each cost $55.
