Break-ins
*About $300 worth in items were stolen from a home on the 100 block of Seneca Court in LaGrange between 8:45 p.m. Tuesday and 4:45 this morning. Jennifer Eason told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that she returned to her home and found her rear door damaged. The suspect took a $150 PlayStation 2 gaming console, a $125 DVD player and three surround sound speakers worth about $75.
*Two teenagers were seen running from a residence on the 2700 block of Isaac Drive are believed to be connected with a breaking and entering at the home. Asay Shreenath, who lives near the home, told Goldsboro Police officers that he heard a noise at about 11:20 p.m. Sunday and saw two black teenagers in white shirts and blue shorts running from the house and getting into a four-door car. Berky Perkins of Benchmark Builders, whose company is constructing the house that was broken into, estimated damages to windows and one of the doors at $800.
*Shavone Oates called Goldsboro Police officers at about 5 p.m. Tuesday to report two juveniles leaving a house in the 800 block of Best Street through a window. Investigators found the window damaged and about $400 worth of jewelry stolen, along with several other items. Tht juveniles were apprehended by officers, according to a Goldsboro police report, and released to the custody of their parents. The damage to the house owned by Catherine Lane was estimated at $150.
*About $500 worth of goods was stolen from a home on the 700 block of Corbett Hill Road at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday. Deloit and Nannie Cotton told Sheriff's deputies that someone entered through the side door of their home and stole two wallets with personal papers within and more than $250 in cash, money orders and checks. The suspect also stole a clutch purse, cell phone, a small oxygen tank and caused damage to the side door. Both wallets were recovered in a yard two blocks away.
*Someone broke into the Country Brother Shop off of U.S. 70 East over the weekend, stealing about $300 in cash and coins. The robber broke into the store through a rear door causing $370 in damages to that door and another interior door to gain access to the store's security cameras. David Daw told deputies of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office that the robber stole a camera, monitor and VCR worth about $1,000.
*A vacuum cleaner worth more than $1,900 was stolen from the truck of a blue 1998 Ford Taurus parked outside off a home on the 500 block of S. Oleander Ave. some time between 6:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday. Although the car had been secure when she left it, Peggy Martin told Goldsboro Police officers that the trunk was open when she returned home.
*Lamont Williams told Goldsboro police that someone broke into his car Monday while it was parked in the 200 block of E. Walnut Street. Stolen were a $2,500 laptop computer, glow rods worth about $75, a $200 cordless drill, a $200 flashlight set, a black leather wallet worth about $50, $150 in cash and two cell phone chargers worth $50. Damage was estimated at $150.
Forger sought
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is looking for a person that used Mario Crews' stolen driver's license and Social Security card to purchase a 1995 Saturn at Bobby Stevens Auto Sales off of U.S. 13 South in May. Crews told deputies that his license and Social Security card were lost or stolen in January, but both items were used to buy the vehicle, which is estimated at about $3,000, on credit. The suspect signed his name as Crews on all of the paperwork for the car, according to a report.
Missing
Alvin Mclaughlin, 17, of Orchard Street, has been reported missing by his family. McLaughlin was described as 6-feet-5-inches tall and 187 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and he has a scar on the left side of his face.
He was last seen on Monday at about 3:30 p.m. wearing a black shirt and black shoes. After getting into an argument with his mother, he was seen traveling north on Orchard Street on his silver bicycle.
Accidents
*Amanda Williams of Windsor Drive, and Ann Adams of Pineview Cemetery Road in Seven Springs, were involved in an accident July 27 on N.C. 111. According to a state Highway Patrol report, Ms. Williams' vehicle, a 1995 Chevrolet, was traveling north on N.C. 111, when was involved in a crash with Ms. Adams' 2000 Chevrolet. Three other cars traveling south on N.C. 111 also were involved in the 6:30 p.m. accident. Ms. Adams and Ms. Adams' passenger, Grace McArthur, were treated and released at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Ms. Williams was transferred to Pitt Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released.
*Diana Edwards, 41, and David Edwards, 18, both of Stone Cutter Place in Pikeville were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital after being injured in a one-car crash on state road 1535 on July 27, according to the state Highway Patrol. Ms. Edwards was treated and released, but David Edwards was transferred to Pitt Memorial Hospital.
