Gun stolen
Alejandro Ponce, 36, of Orchestra Lane reported to Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that someone entered his home and stole a .45-caliber pistol from his bedroom. The pistol was valued at $1,100.
Wanted
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina Department of Corrections Division of Community Corrections are searching for Tarvaris "Popcorn" Sutton in connection with four counts of financial identity fraud, absconding from probation and larceny of electronic house arrest equipment.
Sutton was described as 26 years old, black with his last known address on Creech Street. Deputies said they believe he is living in Lincoln Homes area of Goldsboro.
Anyone with information on Sutton's whereabouts is asked to call Capt. George Raecher at 731-1482.
Stolen car
An unknown suspect took the keys of Natasha Artis' 1998 brown Ford Windstar and stole the car from Ms. Artis' home at about 11 a.m. Thursday.
Jesse Artis, Natasha's father, told Goldsboro Police officers that he let a woman named Natana spend the night at their home on the 2200 block of South Slocumb Street for one night. The next morning, he told officers that he heard the car start. He ran outside to see the woman driving off in the car.
She was described as black, 24 years old, with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green shirt and white pants.
Armed robbery
Jimmy King of Princeton told Goldsboro Police officers he was robbed by two men who took his money and his car after he put gasoline in it at a station at the intersection of Elm and George streets. The robbery, which happened at about 11 a.m. Thursday, happened after King had cashed a check at a local credit union and went to the gas station.
After he paid the cashier for the gasoline, he went back to his car and was approached by two black men. One was carrying the gun and forced King into his car, according to the report. King told officer that he was driven to a dirt road near Pineview Avenue, forced out of the car and had $120 in cash and his shoes taken. The car has an estimated value of $1,500, according to the report.
Diamond ring theft
Mohamed Elrefaey, an employee at Gold and Diamond on North Berkeley Boulevard, reported to Goldsboro Police officers that a man stole a $400 diamond ring at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday after he was allowed to look at the ring over the counter.
The man was described as black, five-feet, eight-inches tall, about 175 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.
Investigations
These breaking and entering and larceny cases are being investigated by the Goldsboro Police Department:
*Someone stole an $80 DVD player and caused $20 in damages to a door during a burglary between 5:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the 1000 block of Maple Street. Montoyo Miller told officers he found his house broken into after he returned home from work.
*William Merritt, the owner of a gas station on the 500 block of North William Street, reported that an unknown suspect broke into the busienss and stole $200 worth of coins. The suspect, who broke into the gas station sometime between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 7:15 a.m. Thursday, entered through one of two broken windows, causing about $100 in damages.
*Someone broke into a home on the 100 block of Countryview Drive sometime between 7 p.m. Thursday and 2:20 a.m. Friday and stole a $120 27-inch television set and a $250 stereo. Linda Kugawa also reported that the suspect caused $120 in damages to the font door of the residence.
