Stolen jewelry
Someone broke into a house on the 1100 block of N. James Street Wednesday by breaking in through a door. Barbara Thompson told police officers that the suspect stole two diamond rings valued at $500 each, a $400 gold bracelet with diamonds and caused $200 in damages to the broken door and door frame.
Stolen car
Rachael Rudolph, of South Slocumb Street, reported that someone stole her car from her driveway while she was out of town from June 1 until Wednesday. When Mrs. Rudolph returned from her out-of-town trip Wednesday night, she reported that her 1998 Mercury Sable was missing, according to the Goldsboro Police report. The car could not be driven because of damage to the head gasket and had not been driven in the past year-and-a-half, she said. The car's value was estimated at $2,000.
Home break-in
Between 8:45 a.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, an unknown suspect entered a home on the 3100 block of Central Heights Road by breaking a window and stole belongings from within the house, according to a Goldsboro Police report. Jerry Platt said soemonebroke through a window near the rear of the house, valued at $50, and stole an LCD 26-inch television set valued at $699 and $20 in food items from his kitchen.
