Officials at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base said they applaud the "total Coalition effort that took place" in Wednesday's airstrike over a remote location near Baqouba, Iraq, that killed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a senior al-Qaida official and leader of the insurgency.

Seymour's 335th Fighter Squadron, "Chiefs," is currently deployed to the area of responsibility and are involved in everything that happens there, officials said.

U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell showed a video of an attack in which he said fighter jets dropped two 500-pound bombs on a safe house in which al-Zarqawi and several aides were located.
