Burglary, assault
end in arrest
A 45-year-old man was arrested Monday by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, and another man received 105 stitches after a fight in his home near Dudley, officers said.
Richard D. Camden of Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, was charged with first-degree burglary and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill while inflicting serious injury. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 secured bond.
Camden
Camden was arrested after deputies responded to a predawn 911 call from a home in the 700 block of Massey Road. The resident, Tony Anderson, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment of head wounds and cuts and released. Camden also was treated in the emergency room for minor injuries and released to deputies.
Camden also was charged by a another resident in Anderson's home with harassing phone calls and stalking. His additional secured bond was set at $500.
Man robbed
A restaurant delivery man was robbed Monday by an armed man outside of a home in the 700 block of North Virginia Street, Goldsboro police reported.
James William Dixon Jr. of Goldsboro told officers that he arrived at about 12:30 p.m., when a man sitting on the steps displayed a handgun and demanded his money and food. Dixon said he had no money or a phone, and the suspect grabbed the food and fled north on Virginia Street.
The robber was described as black, about 25 years old, 5-feet-7 and 165 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. He wore a black hat, a long-sleeved black shirt and black pants.
4 hurt in wrecks
Four people were injured and damages were estimated at $53,800 in 10 recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*Damages were estimated at $6,000 in a two-vehicle collision at 2:23 p.m. Monday on East Ash Street near North Spence Avenue, Goldsboro police said. Magno Leonel Barrios Velasquez, 21, of Pineview Cemetery Road, Seven Springs was charged with a safe-movement violation.
*A passenger was injured and damages were estimated at $5,000 in a two-car collision at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Arrington Bridge, or N.C. 581, and Pecan roads, the Highway Patrol said. Maria Josefina Valdez, 26, of Arrington Bridge Road, Seven Springs, was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital. Alicia Latoya Chambers, 24, of Stoney Creek Church Road, was charged with a yield violation.
*Damages were estimated at $5,200 in a two-car crash at 2:33 p.m. Saturday at Gurley Dairy and Williams roads, the Highway Patrol said. Dewallis B. Horton, 81, of South George Street, was charged with a stop-sign violation.
*An eastbound driver was injured in a two-car wreck at 2:07 p.m. Saturday at U.S. 70 and Claridge Nursery Road, the Highway Patrol said. Tanisha Sherell Swinson, 20, of Bowdens Road, Kenansville, was released after emergency-room treatment. Dexter Thompson Witherington, 44, of Raleigh, was charged with failure to reduce speed. Damages were set at $1,600.
*A driver was injured and damages were estimated at $6,000 in a two-car collision at 4:55 p.m. Friday at N.C. 111 and Stoney Creek Church Road, the Highway Patrol said. Sakeithia Elizabeth Ashley, 17, of Stone Glen Road, Pikeville, was released after emergency-room treatment. Ms. Ashley was charged with a stop-sign violation.
*Damages were put at $6,000 in a two-vehicle, hit-and-run crash at 6:50 p.m. Thursday at Pikeville-Princeton and Old Kenly roads, the Highway Patrol said. Scotty Glen McLamb, 19, of Smithfield, was charged with reckless driving and hit-and-run.
*A driver from Smithfield was injured and her car was demolished in a wreck at 10:10 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 70 near N.C. 581, the Highway Patrol said. Angela Renee Hines, 40, was released after emergency-room treatment. She was charged with exceeding a safe speed. The car was valued at $3,000.
*A car was destroyed in a wreck at 6:11 a.m. Thursday on Genoa Road near Pecan Road, the Highway Patrol said. The driver fled after the car had run off the right side, went out of control and struck the left ditch. The car was registered to Debra Ann Streeter of Evergreen Avenue and valued at $6,000.
*A sport utility vehicle was destroyed in a wreck at 1:42 a.m. Thursday on Durham Lake Road near Hack Drive, the Highway Patrol. The driver fled the scene, the report said. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Mount Olive on Wednesday. Jacob Lee Spivey, 37, of Clayton Road, Princeton, was charged later with driving while his license was revoked, hit-and-run and reckless driving. The SUV was registered to Valinda D. Borders of Dudley and valued at $5,000.
*Damage was estimated at $10,000 after tractor-trailer truck overturned at 8:10 a.m. Thursday at N.C. 111 and N.C. 581, or Bill Lane Boulevard, the Highway Patrol said. The driver, John Robert McClenny, 29, of Grantham School Road, Mount Olive, was charged with exceeding a safe speed and an operator's license violation.
Investigations
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*Video-game equipment, a DVD recorder, a DVD player and a VHS player were stolen Monday after a door glass was broken at a home in the 500 block of Stoney Creek Church Road, deputies said. One resident, Michael Hill, put a $2,447 value on the video-game equipment. A second resident, Glenn Hill, said the recorder and players were worth $760.
*Ten rings, three bracelets, two necklaces, video-game equipment and a DVD player were stolen after a door was damaged at a home in the 400 block of Eagles Nest Road, deputies said. The resident, Denaciano Casteneda, estimated the value of the stolen property at $3,100 and damage at $25.
*About $205 was stolen Friday after a car window was smashed in the Southern Wayne High School parking lot, deputies said. The driver, Ratisha Owens of Mount Olive, estimated damage at $50.
*A black, 18-foot utility trailer was stolen between Wednesday and Monday from Dixie Paint Co. at 326 Belfast Road, deputies said. The trailer was valued at $1,500.
Thefts
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A gold chain with diamonds, a watch, athletic shoes and shorts were stolen between Saturday and Monday after a door was damaged at a home in the 100 block of South Spence Avenue, police said. The resident, Anthony Worrells Jr., estimated the stolen property's value at $1,890 and damage at $125.
*A five-ton heat pump and a cooler were stolen between May 30 and Monday from a building at 115 E. Walnut St., police said. The owner, Ernest Mansour of Goldsboro, said the property was worth $6,000.
*A television and a DVD player were stolen Monday after a door was damaged at a mobile home in the 3200 block of Central Heights Road, police said. The resident, Kenyatta Owens, estimated the stolen property's value at $260 and damage at $25.
*A black utility trailer was stolen between May 26 and Monday from Bell Homes Inc. at 1204 E. Ash St., police said. The trailer was valued at $700.
Drug charge
A 23-year-old Goldsboro man was arrested Monday by the Goldsboro police Support Services Unit and charged with two felony drug violations at his home.
Micah Graham of Olivia Lane was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling marijuana. Officers seized 139 grams of marijuana and $200. Graham was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond.
Missing
A 14-year-old Goldsboro boy was reported missing by relatives to Goldsboro police. Arraqib A. Hardy of 615 S. Claiborne St. was described as black, 5-feet-7 and 129 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. He was seen last at 10 p.m. Friday. Anyone with information on his location was asked to call police at 705-6527.
