Goldsboro police seek suspect in BB&T robbery

A lone robber stole an undisclosed amount of money Monday afternoon from the BB&T branch bank at 435 N. Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro police said.
Sgt. David Kelly said today that photos obtained from a surveillance camera were shown on four area television stations and the photos generated calls to Crime Stoppers.
"We do have a suspect and are going to Raleigh to determine the man's identity," Kelly said. "...Without the combination of the photos and calls, we would not be where we are now."
The sergeant said Federal Bureau of Investigation agents came from Greenville to join in the search and investigation. Police investigators were to go to Raleigh today to look for the suspect.
Police said the robber entered the bank and presented a woman teller with a note that said: "I have a gun. Give me the money." The teller gave up some cash and the man fled. The teller said she never saw a gun.
The suspect fled in a newer-model burnt-orange or burgundy Audi, police said.
The robber is described as white, in his 20s and 6-feet tall with a slim build and short but spiked sandy blond hair. He wore a dress black jacket, a white T-shirt and loose-fitting, black pin-striped pants.
The bank was closed for part of the afternoon as the Goldsboro Mobile Crime Lab dusted for fingerprints inside.
