Many offices closed for Memorial Day

Goldsboro and Wayne County offices and state and federal offices, including the Postal Service, will be closed Monday in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
City sanitation collection services scheduled for Monday will be made Wednesday, said city General Services Director Joe Sawyer.
Waste Industries will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day and operate under a holiday schedule for trash collection over the weekend. Residents who live outside the city limits of Wayne, Greene and Lenoir Countries will have the following schedule: Monday through Thursday, trash collection will be delayed by one day. Trash usually collected on Friday may be put out curbside on Thursday night. It will be collected on a normal schedule.
For the town of Mount Olive, household garbage collection will be delayed by one day.
Also, the Goldsboro-Wayne Transportation Authority will run on a holiday schedule with bus service operate from 9:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Residents who wanted van service for Monday must have made prior arrangements.
