Private schools will honor Class of 2006

Fifty-two high school students are expected to graduate from three private schools in Wayne County on Friday evening.
Wayne Country Day School will have 15 graduates this year. Ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. Friday in the school gymnasium. History teacher Ed Clark will be the featured speaker.

Graduation ceremonies for private schools in Wayne County are planned for Friday night. A baccalaureate service will be held on Thursday at St. Joseph Methodist Church in Pikeville at 5:30 p.m. followed by a reception at Headmaster Todd Anderson's home.
This year's valedictorian is Whitney Nagel. Ross Wilson is the class salutatorian.
Wayne Christian School's graduation will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium, with 21 students receiving diplomas.
The Rev. David Johnson, associate pastor of Freedom Baptist Church, will be commencement speaker.
Danielle Pender is the class valedictorian. Jamie Hastie is class salutatorian.
Faith Christian Academy has 16 students graduating Friday evening at 7. Ceremonies will be held in Faith Free Will Baptist Church auditorium, with the Rev. Dann Patrick speaking. The baccalaureate service was held Sunday evening.
The Class of 2006 has co-valedictorians this year, Elizabeth Virginia Clarke and Jonathan Bryan McNeese.
Public schools will hold their ceremonies next month. Changes to the school calendar mean the school year ends later, with public-school graduations being scheduled for June 9 and 10.
