Man robbed
A Goldsboro man was robbed Sunday of his moped and $25, according to a Goldsboro police report.
Steve Donnell Black, 47, told officers that eight or nine black men approached him at about 2:10 a.m. in the 1100 block of Olivia Lane and asked for cigarettes.
As Black reached for them, the suspects assaulted him, knocking him to the ground, and kicked him, the report said. The suspects then stole the white 2003 Milano moped, valued at $1,200, and the cash and fled.
Car fire
A car in the 500 block of Green Drive was destroyed between Friday night and Saturday in a fire that authorities called suspicious.
The owner and resident, Doris Annette Boykin, told Goldsboro police that she had found the doors open and the disabled car on fire. Damage was estimated at $3,000 to the car and $500 to tools inside the auto.
The fire also caused about $170 in damages to underpinning on a mobile home and a window blind, the report said.
Goldsboro firefighters responded and put out the fire.
Drug charges
Two people were arrested Saturday by Goldsboro police and charged with felony drug offenses.
*Daryl Williams, 26, of Ivey Street was charged with possession of cocaine and two misdemeanors, second-degree trespass and resisting arrest. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of an $8,000 secured bond.
*Marie Griffin, 38, of Horseshoe Drive was charged with possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed in lieu of a $1,000 secured bond.
Two hurt in wrecks
Two people were injured and damages were estimated at $54,650 in six recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*A sport utility vehicle was demolished in a hit-and-run wreck at 8:13 a.m. Sunday on N.C. 55 near Long Henry Grady Road, the Highway Patrol said. The westbound SUV ran off the left side, came back on the road, then ran off the right side and struck a tree. The car, valued at $10,000, was registered to Santos Rayondo Ortiz of White Flash Road, Mount Olive, the report said.
*A car was destroyed in a hit-and-run wreck at 11:30 a.m. Sunday on Stevens Mill Road near Sambo Lambert Road, the Highway Patrol said. The westbound car ran off the right side, the driver overcorrected the steering and the car spun off the left side out of control and struck a tree. The car, valued at $6,000, was registered to Ashley Dawn Waddell of Sleepy Creek Drive, Dudley, the report said.
*A car was demolished in a hit-and-run crash at 12:10 a.m. Sunday on Stanley Chapel Church Road near Emmaus Church Road, the Highway Pa-trol said. The southbound car had run off the right side, struck a driveway culvert and overturned into a fence and a tree. The car, valued at $8,000, was registered to Marosil Cres-po of Longtree Drive, Mount Olive, the report said. Other damages were put at $1,400.
*A westbound driver was injured and damages were estimated at $10,250 in a two-vehicle collision at 7:48 a.m. Saturday on N.C. 55 near N.C. 403, the Highway Patrol said. Maria Rosario Huerta-Torres, 23, of Pineview Cemetery Road, Seven Springs, was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. Another westbound driver, Shasmekia Morris Davis, 29, of New Bern, was charged with improper passing. The report said the vehicles collided as Ms. Torres was starting a left turn into a path.
*A passenger was injured in a two-car collision at 4:05 p.m. Friday at Evergreen and South Audubon avenues, Goldsboro police said. Geraldine Gardner, 26, of Creech Street, was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. Her driver, Phyness K. Fallin, 21, of Devereaux Street, who was going west, was charged with stop-sign and child-restraint violations and not having liability insurance. The report said Ms. Fallon's car had collided with a southbound auto that was driven by Glenda B. Lanier, 49, of Georgia Farms Drive, Dudley. Damages were set at $3,500.
*Damages were estimated at $5,500 in a two-car crash at 3:11 p.m. Friday on East Ash Street near North Lionel Street, police said. A westbound driver, LaQuinta Gladys Hobbs, 28, of Park Avenue, was charged with an improper left turn. The report said the car that Ms. Hobbs had started a left turn and the car that she was driving had collided with an oncoming, eastbound auto that was driven by Dina Elizabeth Gambella, 20, of Stratford Road.
*Damage was estimated at $10,000 in a one-car wreck at 10:20 a.m. Friday on Emmaus Church Road near Mitchell Road, the Highway Patrol said. The southbound driver, Bryan Berndale Manuel, 25, of Prince Avenue, was charged with exceeding a safe speed. The report said the car had run off the right side, careened off the left side out of control, struck a ditch and overturned.
Thefts
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A combination radio and compact disc player was stolen between Friday and Saturday after a car window was smashed in the 1500 block of Ninth Street, police said. The owner and resident, Teresa Jones, put a $120 value on the player and set damage at $125.
*A Dell laptop computer was stolen between Thursday and Friday from atop a locker at Wayne Country Day School, police said. The owner, Gay J. Elmore, said the computer was worth $1,650.
*A white, four-door 1990 Chevrolet Lumina was stolen between Tuesday and Friday from the 300 block of North Kornegay Street, police said. The car, owned by Heriberto Andrade Flores of Fremont, was valued at $1,000.
Missing
A 14-year-old boy was reported missing Saturday to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. Casey Roberto Maddox of 3068 N.C. 111 South, Seven Springs, was described as black and Hispanic, 6-feet and 120 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. When he was seen last at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, he was wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts and tennis shoes. Anyone with information on his location was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 731-1481.
