The 10th Annual Hal Plonk Disability Awareness Walk will be held Thursday, starting with a lineup of walkers at 9:45 a.m. in the parking lot of St. Paul United Methodist Church at 204 E. Chestnut St.
The five-block walk starts at 10 a.m. It is sponsored by the Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities and was begun by the late Mayor Hal Plonk.
The event will feature music by the Goldsboro Middle School Band, booths, refreshments, clowns, balloons and face-painting, along with a performance by the Interpretations dance ensemble.
The first 300 walkers to sign up will receive a surprise, organizers said.
