A Cold Stone Creamery is coming to Wayne County, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County are taking advance orders for ice-cream cakes.

The Cold Stone Creamery will open May 20 in Berkeley Commons and will give 100 percent of the profits the first day to the Boys & Girls Club.

When a person orders a cake, it is like donating to the club and getting a free ice-cream cake, said Boys & Girls Club Director Mary Ann Dudley. The cakes can be picked up at Cold Stone any time within a month of the grand opening May 20.

Cold Stone owners Vicki Rice and Terri Onizuk said they chose the Boys & Girls Club because they wanted to give to a charity close to home. They said the $6,700 they made the first day in Wilson was donated to the Boys & Girls Club there. The gifte enabled the club to offer an extra two weeks of summer camp.
