Woman robbed
A 31-year-old pizza delivery woman was robbed and sexually assaulted Saturday night in the 200 block of Acreview Drive, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office reported.
The woman told deputies that she had stopped at about 9:20 p.m. at the home and asked if she were at the right place. The report said that when two men said she was, she turned around to get the food, and one man stuck a gun in her back and grabbed the food and $80.
The report said the suspects then walked the woman to a field and fondled her. When she refused to have sex with them, the report said, the suspects threw her car keys into the field and fled toward N.C. 111 North.
One suspect was described as being black, in his early 20s, 5-feet-7 and 130 pounds with short black hair. The other suspect was described as being either white or black, in his mid-teens, 5-feet and 100 pounds. Both wore dark clothing and rubber gloves. The younger man's face was covered with a bandana.
4 hurt in wreck
Four people were injured in a five-vehicle collision Saturday on N.C. 111 at Cottonfield Drive, the Highway Patrol reported.
The injured -- a passenger, Kirby Durham Jr., 65, of Miller's Chapel Road; a driver, James Frederick Dupree, 28, of Pikeville-Princeton Road, Pikeville, and his passenger, Nicholas Pope, 17, of Almond Lane, and another driver, Daniel Wayne Holst, 39, of Woodberry Lane -- were treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said.
The report said the collision happened like this:
A northbound driver, Alexis Mata, 30, of Schoolhouse Branch Lane, Mount Olive, had stopped to make a left turn into a convenience store. Durham's following driver, Harold McKenneth Dove, 65, of Sourwood Road, was slowing but noticed a vehicle approaching from behind at a high speed, then started to move into the left lane but saw two oncoming, southbound pickup trucks and got back in the right lane. The third vehicle, driven by Nolivia Lastenia Argueta, 32, of Deer Meadow Drive, collided with the rear of Dove's car and the impact sent it into the first southbound pickup, driven by Dupree. Holst's following pickup then collided with the rear of Dupree's pickup. Ms. Argueta's car then struck Mata's car.
No charges were filed.
Damages were estimated at $24,500.
In other collisions:
*Two people were injured in a one-car wreck at 9:26 p.m. Saturday on Jeffreys Lane, Goldsboro police said. The driver, Robert Arthur Hasty, 70, of Colonel Warrick Road, Dudley, was listed today in good condition at Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. His passenger, Gabriela Maria Hasty, 36, of Colonel Warrick Road, was released after emergency-room treatment. The report said Hasty's southbound car spun out of control off the right side and struck a fence several times. No charges were filed. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to the car and $2,000 to the fence.
*Both cars were demolished in a collision at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at South Andrews Avenue and Berry Street, police said. An eastbound driver, Kenneth Devon Lofton Jr., 20, of Pittman Street, was charged with a yield violation at a stop sign. The report said his car had collided with a southbound auto that was driven by Shannon Neal Brown, 27, of Hart Circle. The cars were valued at $4,500.
Thefts
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these break-in in which $17,700 worth of property was stolen:
*About $11,275 worth of jewelry and a camera were stolen Friday after a door was damaged at a home in the 1900 block of Tommy's Road, sheriff's deputies said. One resident, Joseph Paul Marcellino, reported the theft of five watches and three rings. The camera was valued at $250. Damage was set at $575 to Steven Grant's home.
*Diamond jewelry, two handguns, clothes and a DVD player were stolen Friday after two doors were damaged at a home in the 5000 block of U.S. 70 East, deputies said. The resident, J.R. Wilson, estimated the value of the stolen property at $4,825 and damages at $400.
*Video-game equipment, a German rifle, a handgun, a shotgun and a bayonet were stolen between Friday and Saturday from a home in the 100 block of Talbert Drive, deputies said. The resident, Anthony Duane Husband, put a $1,350 value on the property. No sign of forced entry was listed.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A wallet, with eyeglasses, prescription medicine, cosmetics and personal papers, was stolen Sunday night after a vehicle window was smashed in a restaurant parking lot at 1324 W. Grantham St., police said. The owner, David Hansley of Pikeville, estimated the value of the stolen property at $837 and damage at $300.
*Video-game equipment and a book bag were stolen between Saturday and Sunday after a window was broken at a home in the 1300 block of Maple Street, police said. The resident, N.L. Cannon, estimated the stolen property's value at $475 and damage at $125.
*A green Tomas moped was stolen Saturday from the 200 block of East Vine Street, police said. The owner, Carl Wayne Hare of Goldsboro, put a $1,200 value on it.
*A total of $11 was stolen Saturday after a car window was damaged at a parking lot in the 2300 block of North William Street, police said. The owner, Jessica Rene Lee of Goldsboro, set damage at $50.
Drug charge
A Wayne Correctional Institution inmate was arrested Saturday night by Goldsboro police and charged with possession of a controlled substance in a prison. Douglas E. Mangum, 25, was taken before a magistrate, who set the defendant's secured bond at $5,000. The substance was not identified.
Missing
A 13-year-old Goldsboro boy was reported missing Sunday to Goldsboro police. Keith Lamont Coley of 107 Rockefeller Court was described as black, 5-feet-5 and 100 pounds with reddish hair, brown eyes and a light complexion. When he was seen last at 7 p.m. Friday, he was wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts. Anyone with information on his location was asked to call police at 705-6572.
