Driver injured
A driver was injured and damages were estimated at $11,800 in three recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*A driver was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at North Herman and East Mulberry streets, Goldsboro police said. Charlie Douglas Johnson, 28, of Stone Glen Drive, Pikeville, was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. An oncoming, southbound driver, Ranae Rogerson, 53, of East Mulberry Street, was charged with a safe-movement violation. The report said Ms. Rogerson was making a left turn and the sport utility vehicle that she was driving collided with Johnson's northbound pickup truck. Damages were set at $1,800.
*Damages were estimated at $5,000 in a two-car crash at 11:02 a.m. Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Drive and Corporate Drive, police said. A westbound driver, Doris Donnell Ward, 29, of Quail Drive, was charged with a safe-movement violation. The report said the car that Ms. Ward was driving had collided with a southbound auto that was driven by MaeBelle J. Watson, 76, of South Slocumb Street.
*Damages were estimated at $4,500 in a two-vehicle wreck at 12:30 p.m. Monday at N.C. 55 and Kelly Springs Road, the Highway Patrol said. A northbound driver, Maria Guadalupe Palacios, 36, of Norwood Ezzell Road, Mount Olive, was charged with a yield violation. The report said her car had collided with a westbound van that was operated by Michael Ashley Denning, 32, of Brothers Road, LaGrange.
Thefts
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*Tools, a dresser, a small stereo and wooden rocking chair were stolen between Monday and Tuesday from a home in the 100 block of Hack Drive, deputies said. The resident, James Michael Hargrove, put a $1,210 value on the property. The tools included a saw, a cordless drill, a jigsaw and a socket set. No sign of forced entry was reported.
*A stereo and a basketball jersey and hat were stolen Tuesday after a car window was smashed in the 900 block of Dollard Town Road, deputies said. The resident and owner, Alphonso Gray Jr., estimated the value of the stolen property at $610 and damage at $500.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Gunshots damaged a car trunk and a wall in a home in the 200 block of Hilda Place, police said. The resident, Jacqueline Satchell, estimated damages at $800.
*Three handguns were stolen Tuesday after a door was damaged at a home in the 800 block of First Street, police said. The resident, Decarlos McNair, put a $459 value on the weapons. No damage estimate was reported.
