The Sampson County Sheriff''s Office is investigating the disappearance of Delbert Mooring, who walked away from a rest home in the Ivanhoe Community of Sampson County on April 6.

Mooring voluntarily left the facility, however he has a mental condition that creates concern for his safety. Sampson authorities are asking for help in locating him. Family members in Pitt County have said they have not heard from him and are concerned for his safety.

He is described as black, 48 years old, about 5-feet-7, weighing about 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a tan hat, camoflague pants, and tennis shoes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Capt. Julian Carr of the Sampson County Sheriff's Office at 910-592-4141.
