SEVEN SPRINGS -- Cliffs of the Neuse State Park will present "Earth Day at Cliffs of the Neuse" Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. People can join the park rangers for a day of Earth Day celebrations.
The activities will begin at 10 with a 45-minute presentation about the Neuse River by the riverkeepers at the amphitheater. This will be followed by the planting of two river birch trees in honor of Earth Day. The trees were donated by Casey's Garden Center and Waltham Gardens of Goldsboro.
After lunch at 2 p.m., a park ranger will meet with the public at the museum area for a program about Animals of the Area. The presentation will focus on how animals' unique adaptations help them live in the wild.
More information about the Earth Day events can be obtained by calling the park office at 778-6234 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
