Four injured in crash at US 117 intersection

Two vehicles collided on U.S. 117 North shortly before 9 a.m. today and occupants in both cars, including two young girls, were injured and taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Goldsboro Police Department Sgt. Trey Ball said a white Nissan Frontier truck was traveling westbound on Hook's River Road toward U.S. 117.
The officer said witnesses told him the truck ran the stop sign and tried to cross the highway, but added that he had not confirmed the information. No citations had been immediately issued in the crash.

An emergency worker tends to one of the victims of an accident that happened about 9 a.m. today at the intersection of Hooks River Road and U.S. 117 bypass. Four people were injured and taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital.
As the truck crossed the U.S. 117 North, Ball said, a pewter Ford Windstar minivan traveling north crashed into the driver's side of the truck.
Goldsboro police, the Goldsboro Fire Department and Wayne County Emergency Medical Services vehicles responded to the accident scene.
Goldsboro police Officer Ron McDuffie said investigators were unable to identify any of the victims before emergency workers took them to Wayne Memorial. He described the driver of the truck as a 45-year-old Hispanic man. In the truck with him was a 10-year-old girl and a 2-year-old girl, McDuffie said.
The only occupant of the minivan was a white woman in her late 40s or early 50s, McDuffie said.
Every person involved in the crash was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital. Officers said they could not determine the extent of the injuries of those involved.
