Lane cleared

A man initially implicated in the theft of a tractor from a construction site in New Hanover County has been cleared, detectives in both New Hanover and Wayne County said.
All charges against Larry Keith Lane, 30, have been dismissed, said detectives Rick Farfour of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and K.W. Murphy of the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.
Lane was out of the county when a warrant for his arrest was issued, the detectives said, and when he returned he contacted law enforcement officers and cooperated in the investigation.
Two other men have been charged in the robbery.
