Goldsboro City Council will have its final meeting of the month Monday at City Hall at 7 p.m.

The agenda for the evening will cover more than 20 issues, including five matters scheduled for public hearings.

During a public hearing, concerned residents are encouraged to come and share their views with the council. Three of the public hearings involve potential rezoning.

The first involves Bible Faith Missionary Church, located on the west side of Slocumb Street. The request is for rezoning from neighborhood business and residential to neighborhood business.

The second involves Darden Chapel Church, located on the east side of U.S. 117 between Hooks River Road and Patetown. The rezoning request is from general industry to office and institutional.

Another public hearing scheduled for Monday's meeting involves a contiguous annexation request from Goldsboro Builder's Supply, located on the north side of Patetown Road.

Other items on Monday's agenda include an update from the Economic Development Commission, departmental reports and a request from the human resources department for creation of a new job position.

At the end of the meeting, as is their policy, councilmen will open the floor for public comment.
