Drug charges

Three men were arrested Sunday by Goldsboro police and charged with felony drug offenses.

*Lamont Tyrone Conaway, 52, of Crawford Street was charged with possession of cocaine and two misdemeanors, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a concealed weapon. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $55,000 secured bond.

*Quinton Atkinson, 19, of North Madison Avenue was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and three misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest. He was jailed in lieu of a $50,000 secured bond. Atkinson and Conaway were arrested in the 500 block of East Elm Street.

*Eliud Aguilar, 21, who did not disclose a home address, was charged with possession of cocaine and two misdemeanors, malicious conduct by a prisoner and affray. Aguilar was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $1,500 secured bond.

2 hurt in wrecks

Two people were injured and damages were estimated at $18,300 in three recent traffic accidents in Wayne County, officers reported.

*A passenger was injured in a one-car wreck at 11:25 p.m. Saturday on Lincoln Drive near Slaughter Street, Goldsboro police said. Quishita Washington, 21, was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. Her driver, Adrian Van McCuller, 21, of Poplar Street, was charged with a safe-movement violation. McCuller told police that he hit the gas instead of the brake and backed into yard, sideswiping a fence and striking a tree. Damage was set at $1,500 to the car.

*A driver was injured and the sport utility vehicle that he was driving was destroyed in a wreck at 12:13 p.m. Tuesday on Bridgers Road near N.C. 581, the Highway Patrol said. Christopher Steven Coats, 18, of Rockwell Lane, Princeton, was treated, admitted and released from the hospital. Coats was charged with exceeding a safe speed. The SUV was valued at $6,000.

*Damages were estimated at $10,800 in a three-vehicle wreck at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 117 near U.S.13, the Highway Patrol said. Timothy Wayne Tabor Jr., 19, of Wilmington, was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest and numerous other violations after a 100-mph chase. Damage was set at $3,000 to Mount Olive police Sgt. James Myers' patrol car, $800 to Sheriff's Cpl. Craig E. Edwins' patrol car and $7,000 to the pickup truck that Tabor was driving, registered to Deborah Tabor of Wilmington.

Investigations

Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:

*A 60-inch Sony television was stolen before dawn today after a door glass was smashed at Rent-a-Center at 1809 Wayne Memorial Drive, police said. The TV was valued at $4,200.

*Four tires were slashed and all sides of a van were scratched between Friday and Saturday in the 300 block of Benton Street, police said. The owner and resident, Dee Dawson, a bail bondsman, estimated damages at $1,319.

*A video game was stolen Sunday after a door was damaged at an apartment in the 1600 block of Cuyler Best Road, police said. The resident, Michael Gibbs, put a $300 value on the game and set damage at $200.

*A green, four-door 1998 Nissan Sentra was stolen between Friday and Saturday from the 1500 block of East Holly Street, police said. The owner and resident, Jane E. Johnson, put a $4,000 value on the car.

Thefts

Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:

*Jewelry, a video camera, a DVD player, seven DVD movies, a head set, a cell phone and a calculator were stolen Saturday from a home in the 100 block of Timothy Street near Dudley . The thief had pried a door open to get inside. T.M. McCloud put a $950 value on the missing property.

*Two rolls of stainless steel wire were stolen Saturday from Case Farms at 330 Pecan Road, Dudley. The wire was valued at $2,000.

Missing

A 50-year-old Goldsboro man was reported missing by relatives to Goldsboro police. James Graydon Brown of 602 S. Best St. was described as white, 6-feet-1 and 170 pounds with brownish-gray hair and blue eyes. When he was seen last at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, he was wearing a plaid shirt, blue jeans and a white hooded coat. Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to call police at 705-6572.
