Man, 19, dies after Sunday shooting

A 19-year-old Mount Olive man was shot Sunday night in the 600 block of Wilmington Avenue, Goldsboro police reported.
The victim was identified as Octavius Manley of 100 Royall Ave.
Manley was found lying unresponsive in the street at about 6:30 p.m. by the first officer to arrive, William J. Stern. Manley was treated by rescue personnel at the scene and then rushed by ambulance to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made.
A motive for the shooting has not been released.
"We feel like we have some solid leads that we're following up on," Maj. Jay Memmelaar said today.
Police investigators canvassed the neighborhood and talked to several people, Memmelaar said.
Investigator M.K. Horstmann was assigned to the case. Special Agents John Rea and Barbara Lewis of the State Bureau of Investigation are assisting in the investigation.
Anyone with information on the shooting death is asked to call Horstmann at 580-4213 or Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers may remain anonymous and might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000, if their information leads to an arrest.
Memmelaar said he did not think the death was related to any other weekend crime.
In a separate Saturday night incident, another 19-year-old man was assaulted by five men at about 9 p.m. in the 100 block of North Audubon Avenue, police said.
Marcus Emanuel Moseley of South Audubon Avenue reported that he was walking south and a car pulled up alongside him. Five people got out, and one struck Moseley with a baseball bat and the other four punched him in the stomach and then kicked him after he fell to the ground, the report said.
Moseley was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released, a spokeswoman said.
