Taco Bell moving one site over

The game of musical chairs continues on Ash Street as Taco Bell will soon move next door, to the former Subway site. The new Taco Bell could eventually share a space with another restaurant, an official said.
Previously, Krispy Kreme and Subway both moved to new locations, one door east of their old stores. General contractor SasCorp of Winterville is building the new Taco Bell, which measures about 3,200 square feet.
"The restaurant that we're building right now is the latest prototype of buildings available,"said Scott Himmelfarb, president of franchise owner McLean Foods. "We're building what is basically the biggest building we can build."
The new restaurant will be big enough to support a second brand, if McLean chooses to do so, Himmelfarb said.
"We could possibly have a Taco Bell and a Long John Silver's, or something to that effect," he said. "We invested in a much more expensive building just for that opportunity in the future."
Himmelfarb said the Goldsboro market requires a larger store.
"It wasn't a small dining area," he said of the current store. "But when we get finished with this one, I think people will just have their jaws dropped. It won't look like you're walking into a fast food restaurant, that's for sure."
McLean Foods operates Yum! brand restaurants, which include Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Long John Silver's.
