KENANSVILLE -- The 2005 Industrialist of the Year will be announced during Duplin's 19th annual Industry Appreciation Day Luncheon on Tuesday at the Country Squire restaurant.
Lunch begins at noon. The speaker will be James Chestnutt, president of National Spinning Company.
Chestnut is a native of the Sampson County town of Turkey and brings both a local perspective and a national view to the economic issues confronting the business community, said Woody Brinson, director of the Duplin Economic Development Commission.
Brinson said Chestnut has been very involved in the fair trade issues that are being discussed in Washington, D.C.
"The perspective that Jim will share with us about our trade policies applies not only to the textile industry but to all manufacturing and global economic situations," Brinson said.
During the luncheon, special recognition will be given to long-term EDC board member Wilbur Hussey, who died in November.
