Two sentenced for roles in home invasion

Two young Goldsboro men have been sentenced to prison for their parts in a home invasion and assault in 2005 in Goldsboro.
Lindsay William Young, 17, of Bright Street and Tishan Geigher, 21, of Courtyard Circle pleaded guilty in Wayne County Superior Court to assault with a deadly weapon while inflicting serious injury.
Young and Geigher were accused of barging into an apartment in the 400 block of Courtyard Circle on June 19 and trying to rob and then assaulting one of three people inside.
After the men entered the apartment, a Goldsboro police report said, they demanded money, fired shots and pistol-whipped Antonio Jones of Wilson. Jones was treated for his injuries in the Wayne Memorial Hospital emergency room and released.
Young and Geigher were sentenced by Judge W. Allen Cobb of Wilmington to six months in prison. Young had served 221 days while awaiting his sentencing. Geigher had served 224 days.
Young also was sentenced to 25 to 39 months, but the term was suspended on condition that he complete 36 months of supervised probation, pay $585.65 in restitution to the victim, $617.50 to his court-appointed lawyer, a $300 fine and $1,350 in court costs.
Geigher also was sentenced to 29 to 44 months, but the term was suspended on condition that he complete 36 months of supervised probation, pay $585.65 in restitution to the victim, $650 to his court-appointed lawyer, a $300 fine and $1,340.50 in court costs.
Charges of first-degree burglary and attempted armed robbery against both defendants were dismissed as part of a plea arrangement.
Geigher already was in the Wayne County Jail on other charges when he was charged in this case. Young was not arrested until June 24.
