Child-care conference to be held February 18 at WCC

Child-care professionals and parents are invited to attend the 6th Annual Child Care Conference to be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Wayne Community College.
Thirty-two workshop sessions will be offered, with topics including health and safety concerns for young children such as asthma, lead poisoning, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, classroom activities for child care providers, and workshops that illustrate the importance of literacy development and play. Participants may earn up to six credit hours.
The keynote speaker will be Willa Brigham, storyteller, writer, and Emmy award winning host of the television show Smart Start Kids.
The cost to attend is $35 per person and includes lunch and workshop supplies. Pre-registration is required and the deadline to register is Feb. 13.
