A Wayne County man injured Friday in a head-on collision on N.C. 111 south remains in critical condition at Pitt Memorial Hospital, a spokesman said today.
Clift McCall, 46, of Dobbs Place, was traveling north when the accident occurred, investigators said. His pickup was involved in crash with a southbound Eagle Transport tractor-trailer carrying gasoline and driven by Larry Phillips, 51, of Wilson.
Phillips suffered minor injuries.
Highway Patrol Trooper Mike Conley said Friday that it appeared McCall's vehicle crossed the highway center line.
No charges have been filed.
