Drug charges
Two people were arrested Wednesday by the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad and charged with felony drug offenses.
Nakita Donta McGee, 17, of Olivia Lane was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana after an investigation in the 1200 block of Olivia Lane. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $2,500 secured bond.
Miranda B. Lovelace, 42, of East New Hope Road was charged with possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling cocaine and marijuana, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed in lieu of a $2,000 secured bond.
Ms. Lovelace was the fourth person charged with felony drug offenses after an investigation Jan. 19 at the same home.
Illegal sale
A 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and charged with felony conversion.
Rodney Wayne Pollard of Austin Drive, Princeton, was accused of taking a vehicle that he did not own and selling it to a person in another county, Detective Sgt. Rick Farfour said. The 1991 Jeep, valued at $2,000, was recovered and returned to its owner. More charges are possible, Farfour said.
Pollard was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond.
Shop break-in
A break-in and theft of about $3,000 worth of equipment from a farm shop has been solved with the arrest of a man from Wilson.
Ronnie Lee Hall, 37, was charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after the break-in and theft from R.B. Lancaster's shop on N.C. 222 East. Hall was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond.
Detective Sgt. Carl Lancaster said the investigation is continuing. Detective Sgt. Robert Chunn and the Wilson County Sheriff's Office assisted in the case.
4 hurt in wrecks
Four people were injured and damages were estimated at $15,000 in four recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, the Highway Patrol reported.
*A driver was injured in a one-car wreck at 7:06 p.m. Monday on Wayne Memorial Drive near Stoney Creek Church Road, the Highway Patrol said. Justin Berry Smith, 23, of Wayne Memorial Drive was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. The report said the southbound car that Smith was driving had run off the left side out of control and struck a ditch. Smith was charged with driving left of center and suspicion of driving while impaired. Damage was set at $1,500.
*A driver was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 2:23 p.m. Monday on Old Mount Olive Road near Brogden Street, the Highway Patrol said. Arielle Lynette Best, 23, of Sleepy Creek Road, Dudley, was released after emergency-room treatment. The other motorist, Rolando Aguilar Cabrera, 21, of Old Mount Olive Road, was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end collision. Damages were put at $2,500.
*Two people were injured in a one-car wreck at 2:50 p.m. Monday on N.C. 581 near Pikeville-Princeton Road, the Highway Patrol said. The driver, Matthew Alan Langston, 21, of Hubert Drive, and his passenger, Cody Chad Wilson, 18, of Overton Lane, Pikeville, were released after emergency-room treatment. The report said the northbound car had run off the left side and struck a ditch. Langston was charged with exceeding a safe speed. Damage was set at $5,000.
*Damages were estimated at $6,000 in a two-vehicle crash at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Georgia-Pacific parking lot off Brewington Road, the Highway Patrol said. The report said an eastbound sport utility vehicle had run off the right side, then careened off the left side out of control and struck a ditch, a fence and a parked vehicle. The driver, Ronnie Lavon Kornegay, 47, of Georgia Farms Drive, Dudley, was charged with suspicion of driving while impaired.
Investigations
Wayne County law-enforcement officers are investigating these reports:
*Two televisions and a DVD player were stolen Wednesday after a window was smashed at a group home in the 100 block of Parks Road, sheriff's deputies said. The stolen property was valued at $480. Damage was set at $50.
*A television and a stereo were stolen Wednesday from a home in the 100 block of Country View Drive, Goldsboro police said. The resident, Fernando Hernando Vasquez, put a $680 value on his property. The thieves also inflicted about $500 in damages to the trunk of Vasquez' car, but nothing was stolen, the report said.
Clarification
John Robert Brown, 19, of 262 Brock Road, was not charged with possession of drug paraphanalia, as was reported in Wednesday's Public Record. He was charged with failure to appear.
