Goldsboro artist Zeno Spence will be honored with tributes, a cocktail buffet and exhibits of his work Friday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Arts Council of Wayne County.

Gene Price, editor emeritus of the Goldsboro News-Argus, will serve as emcee for the event, and Dr. Bruce Berkeley will give a presentation about Spence's life.

There will also be tributes by people who have known Spence over the years.

Music will be provided by pianist Tom Casey, and about 50 of Spence's paintings and portraits from 1948 to the present will be exhibited. The exhibit includes oils, charcoals and pastels, among others.

The art will remain on display downstairs at the art center through the month of February. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Arts Council of Wayne County is accepting reservations for the reception through Friday, Feb. 3.

Cost is $50 per person and dress is Sunday attire.
