Drug charges
A man and woman were arrested Saturday and charged with drug offenses.
James Vernon Barrett of 701 Hare Road was charged with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping or selling a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of lottery tickets.
Cynthia Daniels Barrett of 701 Hare Road was charged with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping or selling a controlled substance.
Mr. Barrett was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. Mrs. Barrett was also placed in the Wayne County Detention Center and is being held under a $50,000 secured bond.
Police said cocaine seized was valued at approximately $2,000. They also seized four firearms and more than $1,000 during the search.
Property damaged
Nation's First Inc. reported damage to property caused by breaking and entering Saturday, police said.
Multiple windows, three ceiling fans, an alarm system keypad, a door, walls and smoke detectors were damaged in the incident.
Close to $3,000 in damages were reported by the company. No individuals have been charged or arrested in connection with the break-in.
Additional damage
One of the cars broken into Tuesday night in the 100 block of Center Street was not listed Wednesday's story on the incident.
Ken Plummer told Goldsboro police that vandals broke into his 1989 Lincoln Town Car and did about $300 damage by smashing out a window and vandalizing the interior of the car. They stole $850 in tools including a Skil Saw.
Seven other cars were vandalized in the same location.
