Thompson's remarks clarified

A story in Wednesday's News-Argus regarding remarks by Joanna Thompson, president of the Wayne County Economic Development Commission, contained several errors.
Ms. Thompson said she hoped the state Department of Commerce Department would visit and assess a site on Davis Mill Road near Fremont. She has not visited the site.
She said 15,000 economic development organizations were seeking 2,000 projects each year, not 10,000.
Ms. Thompson said the county's committees of 100 jointly hired a consultant who specialized in economic development fund raising. The story indicated the commission had hired the consultant.
